Primary school

All children in Sweden between seven and sixteen years of age are required to go to school. The education is obligatory and cost-free. In Säter all six-year-olds automatically receive a place in a pre-school class in the school which is within their residential area.

In Säter Municipality there are five municipal primary schools.

What is most common is that the children go to a municipal school near their homes. Pupils and their parents can also choose another municipal school, a school in another municipality or an independent school.

There are no independent primary schools in Säter, but there are some in our neighbouring municipalities of Hedemora, Borlänge and Falun.
